turkey-dinnerWe all know that Black Wednesday is the night before Thanksgiving, right? It is the night that everyone comes home to spend their thanksgiving dinner with their family, usually in their home town. Normally, Thanksgiving weekend starts with a night out at the local hometown club for some fun and relaxation. (Hint: Dirt Cheap!!! at the Sandbar, Nov. 25)

But where did the name "Black Wednesday" come from?

It actually comes from "Black Friday", which is the Friday after Thanksgiving. It refers to the biggest shopping day of the year, where the retailers accounts finally return to the "black", as in making a profit, as opposed to staying in the "red" (loss). The term sort of found its way to Wednesday, as to kind of refer to "Black Friday" later on in the week.

 See you on "Black Wednesday"....
